Its the extra day of the year. I couldnt remember what I did last leap year, so thanks to this blog I was able to go backwards and see that 4 years ago today I was in Texas visiting my family and watching papa's game on the tv with them. We were living in Detroit and my mom and Linny flew to Detroit then to Texas then back to Detroit then back to San Diego. So I had to think what to do for this Leap Year? We skipped Tiago's soccer practice, got some churros, rented some movies, made popcorn, and stayed home. Oh we went to the park too!!! I can only hope that I will remember this day in 4 years from now. Happy Leap Day everyone. Thais's joke today was "Whats a frogs favorite holiday? Leap Day!" she even got up in front of the class and told the joke. The girl loves the stage!

Monday Milestone
So much stuff is in the works, its crazy. I am just trying to work on one event at a time. We have Tatiana's 1st birthday coming up this weekend, our anniversary next week, Sockers in the finals next weekend and my dad coming into town, then spring break at the end of the month and the relay for life event I am team captian of. Its crazy but I am excited for all of these events. An even better thing is I am a bone marrow match for a 5 year old boy with luekemia. I will do my first blood draw on next Monday. I have asked several times before on my blog but I will ask again, please become a bone marrow donor and you too could help save someone life. There was a little boy born 3 days after Tiago name Ethan Powell and sadly he passed away just after his first birthday because he could never find a match. So now Tiago is 5, Ethan would have been 5 and this little boy who I am helping is 5. These things happen for a reason and from a higher power. I was meant to do this in memory of this little boy. So please if you have not, go to this link and request a donir kit. All it is, is 5 q-tips swabs in your cheek. And if you do be lucky enough to become a donor it is no longer the big needle in your bone, it is now all done through blood donations. Pretty amazing and simple stuff to save a life. Who knows maybe someday you will be the one who needs a match. http://marrow.org
ok now back to my babies.
Tiago has always been my special child, some would say he is indigo and i agree. Between his night terrors, "secret powers" and his talks of previous lives, I know he is special. The other day he said, "hey mom. i passed and i got my life back. Cant you understand what that means?" No clue what this kid is talking about but im glad he is happy about it.
I asked Thais, "where are your manners?" she replied "I lost them"
I asked thais, "how are you going to wear boots and shorts to school?" she replied,
" I dont know ask your local state farm insurance agent". girl loves her tv
Thais is so used to school decor i guess she came home and said, "our house is lame we have no decorations"
A fire truck goes by in the rain tiago says "cant the rain just put the fire out?"
My 500 miles challenge is still in full effect, i have 139 miles at the end of week 8. Slow 2 weeks but im going to kick it up a notch this week.
We are going through Thais room and i finally took all my cabbage kids off the shelf and gave them to her. She is a very happy giirl. Im sure i could sell them and get money but the whole point of keeping them all these years was one day letting my kids play with them. Well that day has come.
A few days later my mom found a bag of their clothes. Now Thais is in real heaven
She is officially crawling up the stairs and trying to go down them too
a nice bath
her curly hair she gets from papa
and then she passes out

Sockers
Where to start. This team is making some serious history. Im so excited for them and blessed to be a part of it, but sad to know this season, our 3rd season here is coming to an end. I love going to the games every weekend, seeing all my friends, cheering on papa, watching my kids be with their dad and seeing the smile on my husbands face as he does what he truly loves to do and thats play soccer. I am glad we are making family memories and the kids will remember these games as they really do not remember any of the other places he played and we lived and to do with friends and family. Even if this weekend my family was out of town, our friends, my friends from high school, college, my kids friends and their families, other players wives, parents, and the season ticket holders I have become friends with are all of our family and seeing them and watching the game with people who really know the game, is a true blast.
With that... the Sockers are on a roll. The have not lost this season, they have never lost at home in 3 years and they have not lost since 2010 or in other words the last 34 games. They won in Turlock on the road and they won at home verse Tacoma. Both teams played very differently but the Sockers handled both teams. They always start off slow, usuually losing at some point or keeping it tied till half time but by the end of the game it is a blow out. Lots of articles and videos below. Enjoy!!
Friday Night game away in Turlock, papa returned home at 5am and played Saturday night at home.
Game Night: San Diego Sockers vs. Turlock Express LIVE at 7:30PM
Sockers Tie Lakers with Takedown of Turlock
Ze Roberto dominated Turlock star Jorge Quiroz, holding the midfielder without a point
Turlock star midfielder Jorge Quiroz had a frustrating night, getting shut out on his home field for the first time all season with no points or assists. Quiroz entered the game with 35 points and 21 assists, totals which ranked 6th and 2nd in the PASL respectively. With Roberto hounding him all game long and the Sockers’ penalty kill unit snuffing out all four Turlock man advantages, Quiroz looked like a broken spirit by the fourth quarter.
“He was frustrated,” said Velez, “He wanted to get things going and by the fourth quarter, he gave up.”
Roberto had a lot to do with it, continuing to shine as the best pure defender in the PASL. As the backbone of the penalty kill team, Ze gave praise to the speed of his teammates as a determining factor of the unit’s success.
“With Eddie, Farber and Diego (Rovira), we have so much speed, we know if we can steal the ball they can go (attack),” said Roberto, “We all know what to do and where to be (positioned), and it makes it very hard for the other team to attack our goal.”

I took the stroller because I had no family help and this little girl is getting heavier and heavier and more and more active. Here she is watching the big kids jump in the bounce house

Sockers Make History with 34 Straight Wins
16-0! Sockers Beat Tacoma 9-4, Win 34th Straight Entering Playoffs
Make way for Aaron Susi, Kraig Chiles, Ze Roberto and the San Diego Sockers.
Five minutes into the second, the Sockers were still being held scoreless, the fans were muttering in disappointment at Tacoma’s lack of attack, and the head coach used a second timeout to further adjust the plan of attack. San Diego’s equalizer would come out of a loose ball scrum on right wing, where Ze Roberto spun out of two tacklers’ attempts and bounced a low shot past O’Brien to knot the game at one apiece.

Friday
Everyone is out of town, I had to take all 3 kids in the morning to drop Thais off then I went for a walk. The baby always falls back asleep in the chest sling I carry her in and Tiago wa sin the stroller so we went for about 2 miles but it felt like a lot more because I have 25 pounds on my chest and pushing 50 in front of me. It was quite the work out.
We then loaded up and went over to my friends house. Her oldest daughter is in Tiago preschool class and her husband is deployed so when ever my husband is out of town, I always head to her house so we are not alone. I have been helping her for 2 months now since she gave birth and we have a lot of fun. I was holding her 2 month old and my almost 12 month old and I had a flash back to my days in Montreal when I had Thais and Tiago both as babies. I was laughing to myself, but it was fun. So much fun that 3 hours later after I picke dup Thais from school and went back and got Tiago from school, I met her and her 3 girls at the park by her house. We have gone here before but they tore it all down and just rebuilt it. Felt nice to just go to a park and enjoy some time, 2 parks, 2 days in a row. I really need to do this more often.
We headed home when it got dark but not for long as our friendly neighbor Mrs Beth had invited us over to her house to listen to papa's game on the computer. We used to go to her house every Friday night so it felt so right to be there again. Before we went I had my kids work hard to earn the privlage to go over there. They got the clothes out of the dryer and brought them upstairs and put them away, then they emptied the dish washer. Thais would get the plates out and hand them to Tiago who is sitting on the counter to reach the cup boards and put them away. It was super cute! I was so proud of them. Once at Beth's we cooked our own dinner with english muffin pizzas, they were so yummy and Thais actually ate it. Kids created chaos as usual, Sockers won as usual, Bita feel asleep as usual and we had a fantastic time as usual. Thanks Mrs Beth!!!
2 babies
This girl loves her high chair, mainly because she loves food but I even put it on the ground and all she did was play on it.
We went to go feed Kobae and Tatiana helped herself to some of his lettuce too
Loves climbing stairs, I thought it was just at home but its obviously any where!
With giant bear in the laundry basket
Making mini pizzas
Tiago likes pepperoni
Baby loves soccer balls too

Park Date
Its going to be a hectic few days. My mom is out of town for a week, papa leaves this afternoon for a road game in Turlock, and even my cousins are going to Vegas for the weekend. Its just me and the babies. When this happens, I usually forget all things I am supposed to do and just hang out with the kids. So I volunteered twice this week, today being one of those days, and as soon as I got home, papa had some errands to do before he left town so I went for a walk with Tiago and Bita and ended up at the park. I took some photos of my kids, I am using Ms Beth's lens on my camera. I cant believe my baby girl is turning 1 years old in 10 days. I always look at her as such a baby but seeing her in these photos makes her look like such a big girl. Papa ended up meeting us for a little bit and we played some family soccer then he went home to pack while we got Thais from school. The Medels came over and made dinner before they left town the next day. It was a great family day and nice to not be all alone for a few hours in the evening. I always have all 3 kids sleep in my room when we are alone in the house. We even lock the bedroom door, we feel all safe and cozy and they love the sleep over.
My big girl waves buh bye to everyone and loves to play with the ball
Tree time fun
Loves her baby dolls too
Peek a boo
Tried to get her to throw the leaves but....
she just wanted to sit in them
and she points to everything
Love her!
Tiago had no problem throwing the leaves
Sadly this was her first time in a play ground swing. I know it took 11 months and 3 weeks but regardless she loved it!
Loved swinging and pointing with her brother
and why go down the slide when you can go up it
Papa walking her around
and she eats all the time een when she is walking

Last weekend
A few photos from last week I had on my phone and just downloaded.
We went to a class mate of Thais's birthday party on Saturday. This is the only photo I got but Tiago sure loved the cupcake lol! Amazing family, a military couple with no children got a phone call one day that a long lost relative was about to lose custody of their 2 children and they were looking for someone within the family to adopt these boys. The birth mom has problems, the birth dad is in jail and these 2 brothers, 1 year apart needed a home. This young couple have taken them in and adopted them. They are the sweetest family and the boys are so well behaved and kind. Its people like this I love to support and surround myself with.
On Sunday the Medels took Thais and Tiago for a few hours after church and my mom took Bita for a walk so papa and I went to lunch alone and used our Christmas gift card. Sure we are a few months and holidays behind but it was still a fun time. The ceramic mugs we got our drinks in were for the kids to keep. A ninja and a good luck cat. Cant go any where without thinking of my babies!
Yummy sushi
On the same day we walked to the ice cream store but bita fell asleep, then we walked and picked up the kids and made them walk home. This 500 miles challenge is invlolving the whole family and I love it!
Monday which was a holiday, we had cousin Dede come visit
We got some new shelves for Thais's room and moved her bed. Its not finished, its still a work in progress but she spent the whole day in her room. She loved it! I cant wait till we really finish it.
Photos from last weeks snow adventure. This is Thais's male friend from her class
Both boys from her class, fun to be with them but not in the class room.
