Thats right just another day in the life of me and my kids and our once in awhile papa. No Im kidding, he is so busy with work and trying to be 100%, we just try to stay out of his way and give him love when ever we can. I think it is working because he just might play tomorrow in Cleveland and maybe not. We dont want to get our hopes up but we'd love to see papa get at least a few minutes on the field, just to get his feet wet again. Tune in tomorrow at 8pm eastern time on Fox Soccer Channel to find out.
So today the kids had art class, then open play, then we went to the play ground for an hour. It was an ok day outside and rain is on the horizon as always, so we just enjoyed some time out of the house before we are stuck indoors all weekend.
Art today was some clay they squished in a fist and then it looked like a "bumble bee"
Thais putting the finishing touches on it, she is fascinated with putting eyes, ears, nose and mouth on everything right now. Open play class, my cutie pie Marching band time Sweet babies A Puma Commercial He loved this slide Always kicking a ball and my flower girl, loves her some flowers Randomly we passed by a concert being put on for the seniors but my kids were so fascinated, we hung around for awhile (My car seats ladies, please dont bash on these next too pictures, Im usually much better about car seat straps and so on, didnt even notice till i got the pixs back.)
Anyways have you ever seen a child more relaxed, seriously? She is one happy kid! and then there is my sad and tired boy The finished art projects of the day Tiago just liked putting legs on, so his bee has 7 legs. Hey its his world! A kiss for papa before he leaves on the team bus
I have 2 videos but youtube is acting up, i will load them in the morning, so please come back and watch them later! Thanks!
UPDATED- finally got the videos. These arent anything amazing just a couple of minutes in our every day life.
Sooooo yesterday the kids went back to gymnastics. I think the week off did Thais good as she listened much more and was able to do more. Tiago wasnt used to being with out his sister so he cried but we went upstairs and he eventually was ok at being the little brother in the waiting room. Then today we have no classes in the morning, so I usually do school time, but thais was in a bad mood, so school today was more fun than actual academic learning, but learning new skills is part of school, so our games qualified. Finally at 6pm, Thais had her ballet class and I told her, she had to watch the teacher not herself in the mirror. So half the class thais just stood there staring at the teacher instead of doing what the teacher was doing, she just watched her. But i then realized I am one of those moms, the mom who wants her kid to do it right or dont do it at all. I watch all of her classes, every second of them. Other moms read books, surf the net, talk on the phone and dont watch one second of their kids class, thats not me. I figure if I am paying you to teach my child, my child had better learn. I mentioned something to the teacher before class about me wanting the recital music on a cd so we can practice at home and she looked at me like i was crazy. But at this point, thais has no idea of either song she is supposed to perform and the teacher is ok with that. So this class I noticed the teacher spending a bit more time with thais. Which like i said, is good, im paying you, if i have to teach her why am i paying you? I wrote down a few things we can practice at home, but i am watching these teachers like a hawk now, lol! I ask after each class how she did, even in gym class. I think a parent should know. Ok enough of that, time for pixs. Oh Thais has dance pictures in 2 weeks and im so excited. She is going to be so cute, even if at the recital she doesnt know a thing, at least she will look cute up there!
My swinging boy Thais does this all by herself so easily The kids built this huge fort then tiago kicked every single one in
We used our post office boxes as tunnels for Tiagos trains, he loved it!
I tried to fit the kids in the boxes and ship them off but they didnt fit. Gone Fishin' He caught one We then played with a moon sand/ play doh material. It makes a mess and once the colors touch, you can not get them apart. We got this last yr and still have it. These were all of our creations, snake/ train, ice cream cones, flower and a snowman which we made last yr and thais remembered with some eyes, ears, and nose. We then played with some news cards I got about matching, Thais really liked them. We also did opposites, such as wet/dry, hot/cold, near/far, high/ low, etc. She picked it up really well. Then we did puzzles, Thais's is actually a cube puzzle, each side of the cube belongs to a different puzzle. I got it at the hospital gift shop when papa had surgery, its really hard but she does pretty well. Ballet, walking backwards on her tip toes Tap portion, touch toe, slap heel to make tap sound
and just for laughs... it has finally begun. Tiago popped the head of Thais's doll
Got to keep everyone on their toes each Monday to see if this post is really coming or not, jk! I actually would have had it on Monday but youtube was down last night and i couldnt load the last video, so i had to wait. Finally not my fault. Lets get to it....
Thais's cute saying of the week- "My teeth are dirty. I need to go brush them, mommy look at my dirty teeth."
Thais is becoming so grown up that she tells us when it is time to do things and she is right, like brushing her teeth. We dont have to force her or nag her, she comes to us and says, "Mommy lets go brush my teeth", "mommy, i need a bath", "mommy i want my pajamas", "mommy ceral is a great idea for breakfast", " mommy chicken nuggets are yummy for dinner". Seriously? How did I get such great kids? Oh and tiago will turn off the tv at night and say "nite nite". Unreal but am so thankful!
I told you all how i put the kids clothes low to the ground so they can start picking out their own under wear and socks, well that lasted about a week, now they both are picking out their entire outfits before even leaving their rooms in the morning. Thais will wake up, go pee, grab new under wear, pants, shirt or a dress and come out to the living room and get dressed by herself for the most part. Sometimes we have inside out pants but i dont say anything because she is so proud. Tiago is right behind her with picking out his shirts, it usually a train shirt or a soccer shirt but he still goes into the closet and tugs on a shirt till it comes off the hanger. Yes it leaves for a messy closet but it gives them such pride and i have to say, thais is seriously fabulous at matching clothes. She picked up a black shirt and black pants that came together but i have never had her wear them together and she picked them out to wear together. 2 days ago she got a pink shirt that had a very small blue bird on it and then grab shorts with the exact same blue, and again i have never had her wear those 2 items together before. Seriously, who is fully dressed before 8:30am or breakfast and on a Saturday? She may have a future in fashion.
Tiago is showing very early signs of being potty trained, he will tell us if he pooped or peed which is step 1 in a very long process but at least he has started it. I can only imagine life without diapers, lol!
We got a new dvd player for our road trip over Easter and thankfully i got the 1yr warranty because I have yet seen any dvd player of ours make it through 1 yr and this one is no different. How ever Thais knows how to change the entire dvd and turn it off and on and pause and everything. It makes it nice for me,but i know it wont make it 1 year, lol!
Thais is fully day potty trained, she doesnt even wear a pull up during nap and while she does wear one at night, i think we will be stopping that too soon. She has gone over 1 week of not peeing in her night diaper, she goes before bed, sometimes during the night and 1st thing in the morning. We have never pushed her and while she started this process before her 2nd bday here we are at 3.5 and finally done. Obviously we never pushed it.
Tiago has night terrors. They are the saddest and loudest thing but nothing we can do about them. He doesnt even fully wake up but he cries so hard he stops breathing, so they are always scary for us, i will never get used to them.
The kids new fav game is to use papa's rubber bands for his leg strengthening as ropes and they fish with their toys or rescue them over the couch.
While Im updating, lets add, papa is hopefully within 2 weeks of playing, maybe sooner maybe longer. His knee is strong but his shin where they took the bone from hurts. Its shooting pain up his leg, so pretty tough to play through, we have tried everything and anything and then some, just hoping at some point it goes away. His last real game was in August, he is due. Papa's stadium
I am working out each morning and feeling good, i am trying to take better care of myself and my family and be in a good place in all areas of my life and i feel i have made great steps in doing that. I have off days but i dont stress about it, just forget it and move on to the next day.
Who can forget our plants? Ok the kids plants, I finally checked them today and we have growth. The ones i wanted to grow like tomatoes and strawberries have not grown and i doubt they will but the kids enjoy it, so thats all that matters.
Papa is yet again a proud great uncle to his nephew Maiquin's new baby girl Angela Luiza
The best part are the videos so here they are....
My sweet boy, talks. For those that have not heard him, here he is...
And the kids are old enough now to do some chores. Kidding of course but instead of telling them to leave me alone while i do the chore, i have begun to include them and they love it. This is Tiago putting the clothes i the washer
and Thais putting the clothes in the dryer
and finally this was Thais at the library yesterday. She LOVES the computer. It is a pc with a mouse which we do not have nor has she ever used before and she totally rocks at it. I mean considering she only does it 15 mins in her life, she is getting good.
Ok off thats it for this week. Hope you enjoyed it!
Spring Break is officially over and I couldnt be more happy about it, lol! We started yet another new class today. This is completely new for us. My kids have never done story time before. They just are not kids who sit still, we get out of the house to burn off energy not to sit still. Well now they are older and need to learn the different times of sitting still and running around and what better way then with books? Im always too late to register my kids for library time because the classes are full, well this time i was the 2nd person registered and have been waiting 2 wks for the class to start. Im so proud of myself. Its only for 4 wks but at least I can say we tried it. Im willing to try anything once. Plus in the last couple weeks we have really done A LOT more story time at home, it is on my to do list every day to read to the kids. They each pick a book and i read each book twice, alternating back and forth. Except we cuddle up on the couch or in momma's bed before they go to their own beds for the night. Well today was a shocker for them when they had to sit on the floor and not with mama, but they survived as usual. This library has a classroom like room with tables and chairs and the teacher had the end of class craft laid out on the tables, so the entire story time, thais just wanted to do the craft but was told to sit on the floor. Anyhow its day 1 of 4, its a great start and its free and we always hang out for at least 1 hr afterwards. The kids get new books and new dvd's each week along with a library bag that they check out each week. Oh and by the way, we walked to the library this morning. Ok I walked and they got rides in their strollers. Great work out and even better since i had already done 2 work outs earlier that morning.
So as if that wasnt enough for 1 day, this afternoon was the kids spanish class. I am getting a 2 for 1 deal till the class ends in June so I took it. Its a good 25 min drive each way but again there are only 5 classes, so we are going to do it till June and see how it goes. The kids have to nap early and wake early and then sit for 25 mins so when they get to class they want to jump around and eat and play, but hopefully i can continue to work on this and get them to pay more attention. They did how ever learn and have fun for at least part of the class so it was worth it. They did the story of the "La Mariquita Malhumora" (The grumpy ladybug). They learned lots of animals, repeated 2 songs and some words from last week before we moved into the kitchen where they cut up fruit, put it in a waffle cone and scooped "crema" on top and had a healthy snack. How ever all the strawberries tiago cut, just ended up in his mouth. Thais has yet to eat her kitchen creations but is very happy to come home and give them to papa.
The weather was great so we hung out on the patio doing all kinds of stuff, chalk, bubbles, hippoty hop scotch as thais calls it , but then i gave the kids brand new bug catchers, while cruel, surely entertaining especially for tiago, who let all his bugs go about 3 mins after he caught them. I even let the kids have a tea party with real water with tia lulu which they both got soaked but are great at saying, "salud". Then once papa returned from the airport with tio salles and a great win yesterday, we went to thier apartment and had thais and papa's fav cheese bread, Then we were the testers for tia lulu's new desserts that she sells at bakeries for extra cash. They were all sooooooooo good that we didnt even have dinner, just dessert.
It felt good today, real good! Now im watching my LAKERS at 11:30pm and its not even half time. oh to be a fan of a west coast team living on the east coast, lol!
While not a great picture, just proof we actually walked, I mean really how else would they end up in the middle of no where in strollers on such nice side walk, lol! My 2 kids actually sitting and listening to story time Finally doing her dog puppet craft This girl loves her some puppet show, she actually gets an audience of other kids who sit in front and listen to her, its hilarious Puzzles, they have a new love of puzzles, now they get them twice a week In spanish class on the mariquita they built. first they cut, then pasted the other animals on the spots, then pasted the spots, legs and face on the body then played sit or stand on the animal she called out, all in spanish. cutting frutas, thais use a knife and scissors both for the 1st time today and loved it! Thats his guilty look, he ate all the frescas (strawberries) Thais decorating her dessert for papa Back home and looking for bugs The bugs who got caught and tiago's hands before he releases them My patio full of all kinds of activities
So this weekend we had "nice" weather. Yes it didnt rain or snow and there were moments that reminded me of sun diego, but it wasnt the same. We went to a couple parks, but Saturday it was super windy. You can tell by thais's hair and can hear the wind on the video of the kids climbing. Then Sunday it was cold and rainy like with a few sprinkles, so our time at the park was not that long, because the kids noses were red, hands in pockets, it was cold. Now they expect rain the next few days. This weather is really depressing me, but thankfully the kids have tons of classes this week, so we should be pretty buy out of the house regardless of the weather.
Speed car racers, check out Thais's hair blowing My monkeys The kids crossing the path, very proud of tiago and of course thais had to top him with swinging from step to step. You can hear the wind and actually the wood chips would be blown and hit our shins and it hurt, it was so windy.
We dropped papa off , then went to pick him up but he wasnt done teaching the kids, so we stopped and had some snacks. Than papa took the kids into the training room and showed them some drills. Thais was so cute doing them. Thats papa on the machine behind the kids, who are playing with anything and everything they can Back home after naps, we did farm stamp on the patio This is Thais's stamped farm. The stamps are hard to see but she did a great job. Then we did magnet letters, numbers, shapes and colors. The kids dont even realize this is "school" work, its just a fun way of learning.
Sunday Black Creek Park, with a lake in the background My crazy kids Silly boy Talking to Thais on the other end. Notice the clothes for such "nice" weather. Tiago found Thais This was a new skill that they both mastered and Tiago actually did it better than Thais Our walk around the lake begins. Papa taught the kids to put their hands in their pockets, they looked so cute! Throwing rocks in the lake is their fav thing to do
