Around the world in 30 days...

Here is the deal.... before my computer was updated last month, I was keeping track of how many states, provinces, and countries my blog had been read in. Sadly I lost it all because I am lame with backing up, so the month of July will be my "Around the World in 30 days" ok 31 days, but you know what I mean. On August 1st, I will post how we did. Till then..... game on !!!!
Go Go Go !!!! (lol)

Play Park in the Rain

Thais woke up ready to go for our evening walk to play park. I looked outside and while it looked cloudy, i thought we should just take our jackets and go for it. We barely made it to the building next to us before we felt rain drops, but i couldnt turn back already, so on we went. It stopped for about an hour and we had a great time. There was a few other kids there and a really cute puppy who just loved Thais, He would not leave her alone, it was so cute. Thais actually fell off the climbing wall, but to her credit, after about 1 minute of tears, she walked right back over to it and climbed it with no help and no fear. The other parents all cheered for her when she reached the top and kept commenting how fantastic it was and what a great little spirit she had. As shocked and scared as I was, i was also very proud of her. If it were me, I wouldnt step near that wall ever again, lol! The funny part is since the fall, she has been acting super nice. As we were walking home, she told me to hurry because she had to poop on the potty and again to her credit, she held it till we got her on the toilet. Then she wanted to bath, which she hates bathing right now. And right after that.... she asked for dinner, which she hardly ever eats. She even cleared her plate and got 2nd's. I am seriously in shock over here. Going to see how long this last.

I also want to say thanks to my girl who is also a soccer wife and after i told her about the parents earlier today, we just agreed we are not the norm. We didnt buy a house when we got married, we didnt decorate a nursery when we found out we were pregnant, we dont expect people to just show up at our door on friday nights to hang out, we arent invited to birthdays or holiday parties for we usually dont have any family or friends in the cities we live in, we dont buy a lot of clothes or house ware, we just dont do a lot of what the "normal" american society does. And we love it!!!! Seriously!!! You have your whole life to be in the PTA and work 9-5, why do it now? We get to see so much of the world, yet we dont have to live there for ever, (thank goodness, philly, detroit and new york are not what i call family environments, lol) we get to live in our husbands dreams every day and share their passion, our husbands are home by noon on most days and not only that... our husbands sign autographs and play on national television. So no we are not the norm and we love it.

Now me and the kids are going to cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie. One more day crossed off the calendar of Papa being gone. 2 more nights to go....

PS- I got 2 more posts already written for tomorrow. Can you tell my blog has been my quite time the last few days? Its on fire, lol! It will calm down when Papa gets back, i have family coming to visit and the kids start class.

Everyone should run in the grass with their shoes off

Prayers

I am once again asking for some prayers from all of you faithful readers. My grandma just got out of surgery and while they say it went great, please continue to pray for a speedy full recovery. Continue to pray to for my Tia Lydia who is battling her 2nd round of Chemo with cancer. Please pray for safe travels of my husband and his team and also for both parties of my family who will be coming to visit the next 2 weekends. I thank you for your prayers and will update when I know more.

Thanks!

UPDATED: i spoke to my cousin Tina who was in my grandma's hospital room and I could hear my grandma in the back ground. She is in some pain but it is expected. Please keep her in your prayers, thank you!!!!!

Another Day, Another Adventure

The weather isnt great so we went to an indoor play ground today. It isnt a tall climbing place, its just a big open space with lots of stuff for the kids to do. We were there alone for the first 90 minutes, then we had lunch, then a bunch of kids came. I found it kind of sad and was thankful I am the mother I am because out of all those kids and parents, I was the only parent actually out there playing with the kids. The place had a giant dance floor and there were games and activities you could do. So I did them with the kids. Sadly my kids were even too little to really understand the games, but smiles from any kids is always great. I know this move has been tough and this week even tougher, but days like today and moments like this morning, i am grateful I get to spend the time I do with my kids. I always knew I was going to be a mother, I always wanted to have lots of kids, but I never thought I would raise my kids so far away from my family, but my husband is a great father and we do a great job with the situation that we are in. But weeks like this where I am a single mom living cross country from her family makes it even tougher, but I know days like these only make us stronger. You fight for what you want in life and Papa and I are thankful to be living our dream even with the sacrifices we make, we are thankful. We know we wont live this life style for ever, so we are enjoying it while we can... as for the other parents in that place, I wont ever understand them, nor do I want too. Just another sad part of society.

Ok off my soap box now. I wish I could take more pictures for the best moments were of us playing on the dance floor and the bumper cars, but i hardly get photos of those as I am playing with the kids and taking pictures wasnt possible, lol!

Tiago back in the sand box. He loves these things..

The bumper car area I was talking about

The dance floor

Thais enjoyed playing house and feeding her baby and playing with the doll house.

Tiago enjoyed all the cars they had there

Lunch

then a book

Then came the other kids... and they all dressed up to be on the dance floor

Was it a dream??

I swear my husband came home yesterday, but now that I just woke up in this house yet alone again, with the kids, I am trying to figure out if it was just a dream or not. My husband walked in the door around 5:30pm, dropped his bags and jumped in the shower, took both kids with him and then gave them a bath. He then went and did an entire load of laundry and even folded them, as I put them away. We had a great home cooked meal and watched the Euro Cup Final (it was played at 2:30, but we recorded it and watched it later without knowing who won). CONGRATS to Spain on a fantastic tournament. It was raining outside so we were unable to go for our evening walk, but it worked out just fine. We hung out as a family, the kids really missed him and we all missed being together. The kids went to sleep around 11pm, Papa and I "talked" then went to sleep and I remember his phone ringing at 4am, then he was gone. Literally the second the front door closed, Tiago got up and walked into our room and on to Papa's side of the bed till we woke up at 8:30am. Now I sit here eating breakfast trying to figure out how I got so lucky so have such a wonderful husband.

Thais just came and told me, she wants Papa to take her to see the ducks at play park. My heart is breaking for her, knowing she wont see her Papa till Wednesday. The minute she woke up she ran to the living room looking for him and when he wasnt there, she feel to her knees and started crying. She even got rug burn on her knee which made it worse. I feel so bad for them, Tiago was stuck to his papa last night. Every time Papa left to go check the laundry, Tiago cried thinking his papa wasnt coming back. We didnt see Papa for the entire month of May but since then we have seen him every day, so adjusting to him being gone again was rough but then he came home for 11 hours really confused the kids.

Well time to stop feeling sad, got to buck up and get out of the house in hopes the time goes by faster. Saddest thing, i didnt even get a picture as proof he was here! Maybe it really was just a dream.....

New Play Park

With Papa still out of town, we went and found a new play park to go to. I had heard it used to be a huge wooden play ground but it just got redone with all new fun kid stuff and they were right. We took lunch and lots of snacks and drinks and toys and a blanket and had ourselves a picnic and a great time. Once again probably there close to 3 hours and they made lots of friends and took breaks. It was a great park.
So since Papa left, we went on a 3 park walk friday morning, then the school next door in the evening. Saturday we did the kids museum then the school next door in the evening and today we did a new park with hopes of the school this evening. Im not sure if we stay so busy so we dont remember we are alone, or the fact that we just hate being indoors and am trying to live life to the fullest. Probably a little of both!!!
The kids are napping but we are waiting for papa to walk in the door. His plane landed and is on his way home. The kids will get to wake up and have their papa home. Im so excited for us all!!!

We lost because....

Papa's team lost because I wasnt there. I wish I could say it wasnt true but since I have gotten to Ny, papa's team has not lost. Their first away game and they are blown out. Well not really, but they got a red card, another player was serving a red card, we had some injuries, but in the end, they won, we didnt.

I am very proud of Papa though for he never gave up. We were losing 3-0 and with only 1 or 2 minutes left in the game. and HE SCORED!!!!!!!!! thats right, he got his first goal of the year. granted we didnt win, but i am so proud of him. He was also interviewed before the game for the half time show and it was so cute. He mentioned me and the kids and did a great job speaking english, which he hates to do. Cant wait for him to come home... counting down the hours.

Evening Park

And you thought going to the museum for 3 hours was enough for one day, no way... not us. After lunch and naps we packed our park bag and went to the park for 2 hours. It was so hot and humid, but we tried to sit in the shade and draw. Papa comes home tomorrow, although only for one night before he leaves again. we can not wait!!!

I got suckered into buying these at the grocery store just because they looked so cute. Thankfully the kids liked them, lol! Seriously who thinks of this stuff?

New Shirt from Tia Lyd for his 1st July 4th. I am so nervous for our 1st american independence in years....

Such a boy, I love how dirty he gets!!!

That latin beat is in her blood

He is so proud he can do this by himself, now we just have to work on the aim thing.

I love their names especially next to each other.

On the phone with her Nino, see that smile from miles and miles away he brings her?

Thais's new love is rainbows. She is always talking about them and wanting me to draw them and color them. Its so cute!

Strong Museum

I have no idea why they call this place the Strong Museum, but oh well. This place is all about kids and playing and learning. I was supposed to meet my girl friend Denise there but she didnt show up. It didnt stop us from going anyways. Most of you know how I am when my husband is out of town, I tackle more than I do when he is in town. It was a weekend and raining so I expected it to get crowded so we went as soon as we got up and were inside by 11 am. We stayed till 2pm before the kids were spent for the day. The kids and I have never been to a kids museum before so for this to be out first one, it was pretty neat. Granted I wish my husband was there to help, but we did just fine by ourselves.

Here we go.....

Huge fish tank right when we walked in.

This room was supposed to make the person look big and the room look small. Do you think it worked?

The wall of bubbles

Thais was so confused with this mirror, but she was laughing.

They were driving the car through the tv screen. Of course they didnt do so well.

I felt so bad for Tiago on this one. It was a virtual volley ball game and he kept trying to grab the ball but it would bounce up. He was so confused, and of course the great mom I am, i just laughed and took pictures, lol!

We did the mini grocery store. The kids got their own baskets and picked 5 items then went and scanned them and checked out. I was laughing more at the fact that i didnt have to show them how to do it. They have seen us do it enough to know already what to do.

More places to play. Thais loved the kitchen sink.

This was the cutest thing I have ever seen and next time I can bring my own vcr tape and record it. This was a fake tv set for a cooking show. The kids didnt understand the tv studio portion but I did and I loved it. They had a blast.

We rode the train and Thais loved it. Keep yelling Toot Toot, all abroad.

They had a few sands areas and Tiago LOVED them.

Clifford the big red dog area (you will notice Tiago started to get tired and i was carrying him the rest of the time)

Brusha Brusha Brusha

They had a new exhibit just for the bernstein bears

Nothing like life size chess

The princess coming out of her pumpkin carriage

Carousel ride before we eat (just in case)

Lunch of champions

All tired out and ready to go home
