Halloween (part 1)

This is why I love living in San Diego. Granted even if it wasnt Halloween, we would have gone to the beach because thats what you do when you fly into San Diego from cold east coast, lol! Papa got to see first hand that his children really are beach and water babies and how they enjoy the sand and surf.

This was actually yesterday, but its great to have all my boys together. Chewey the dog, Kobae the tortoise, Papa the husband and Tiago my son. All 4 of my boys back together again.

On the way to the beach

The view from the highway

OK, ready, set, go....

Papa took most the pixs and videos

Papa back at the beach

Father and son moments

The birds dont usually bother us because they cant get close enough before one of the kids chases after them

It is Halloween afterall

We built tons of stuff, but seconds later Tiago wrecked them

More mommy time

Our venture to deep waters

Instead of passing out on the way home, they ran in the door and jumped in the pool

Had to feed Kobae too

Now they are all napping including papa before our Halloween activities tonight.

Profess Pixs

I finally did it, I got the kids pictures taken today. I was so good when the kids when younger, i went every 3 months for Thais till she turned 2 yrs old and I was pretty good with Tiago. Im usually really good during the holidays and the kids birthdays but come summer.... i just dont go. I didnt go once while living in NY, so this was long over due. Tiago is attached at my hip at the moment again, so he wanted nothing to do with photos, but we got a few. He has never been a good profess picture taker, he always has the "huh?" face on, lol! Today was about Thais's 3rd birthday and the kids in their costume photos and we did just that. Check them out. I got the cd that has the originals but i took pictures of the printed pixs with borders and stuff on them, that i thought were cute too. Im actually really pleased with them and I know how much papa hates them so I made sure to go do them before he got here, lol!

(written wednesday night, but posted thursday afternoon)

The 6 Original pictures

My big 3yr old with her dora mermaid doll in the photo

This one she actually looks so much older

My babies, they actually had cute matching brown shorts and skirt on but you cant see. Tiago also just woke up from a nap in the car ride over, hence his read checks. You can see Tiago's trains too.

My mermaid, although people will call her aerial, she thinks she is dora mermaid, just like her doll

She asked to sit on the rocks instead of the pumpkin which fit considering she is a mermaid. She also had a tiara, wand and shoes, but didnt want to wear them for the pictures at the last minute.

We tried everything to get him in cute poses but this is the best we got and he didnt even have his gloves on. But hey, i will take it!

Now the borders and montages

I thought this one was cute to match their shirt colors

This was one of my favs because of the same letter used for both names

Halloween border

Same halloween border with both of them

Birthday border

This is the same border we used last yr when she turned 2, so i got the photo my mom had from her 2nd birthday and compared it to this yr. Its such a huge difference. Her face and length of her arms, her legs, her hair, all of it is just different.

Papa is lost in the friendly skies (UPDATED)

(UPDATE AT BOTTOM)

So after all this perfect planning i did for papa to fly here this morning, his plane is delayed. He was supposed to leave NY at 5am, change in Philly and be here by 10am. I got him wheelchair service because its too hard to walk up and down stairs for him, i got him in the back of the plane on an aisle seat but no one next to him so he had the whole row to put his leg up on. I got him a shuttle at 4am, the whole thing, only to have him call me in the middle of the night telling me he got on a different airlines flight and is changing in a different city and will be here at a different time. He said he will call when he gets here. Im so sad for this isnt how i pictured his arrival. I think I know what flights he is on and will head down the airport by myself and wait it out. I sign up for plane delay phone calls and i tell ya, i had about 15 phone calls through out the night to tell me the plane is delayed. heck his old plane still hasnt even taken off and so far is on an 8 hr delay. i hope they got everyone on his flight on other flights. Anyways... if you see a plane flying over head, can you pull out your binoculars and look for papa for me, then check out the tail number and email me, thanks!

UPDATE: Papa was found and is home safe and sound now. The kids were super happy to have papa home because we didnt really tell them he was coming hoe, he just appeared. I got most of it on camera.

Papa was standing at the bottom of the stairs when the kids turned the corner, hence their expressions

Thais ran down the stairs so fast i couldnt even get a good shot of her

Catch up

OK so i didnt make it back for naps but here i am before bed updating. With papa coming tomorrow I expect to be busy the next few days, so I really wanted to share some of this.
I know we are with family, but this is still a full on move for us. We live here again and we are having to adjust our way of living. I am not used to family events, and baby showers, and watching sunday football. Sure we do it once a summer or so, but doing it every single week its new to us. We have never lived near family since having kids so this is total adjustment. I love it dont get me wrong, my heart melts every day when my cousin or mom walk in the door and my kids go running up to them. And that I have great relationships with my godson and his sister during these awkward teenage years is priceless to me. I am so thankful for all of this. Even the fact I have time to blog right now while my mom is playing with the kids is amazing. Granted there are some down sides, my kids are spoiled but let them be, they havnt been their entire lives. We also dont have alone time, or quite time because every night diner is at least 5 if not 10 people, so sitting on the couch or chatting on the internet in the evenings is not possible because i love my family time, but it really does take adjusting. Did I mention Tiago sleeps with my mom every single night except maybe 1 or 2 since we got here. Its not so much for her, its because she has the biggest bed and he is a wild sleeper. The biggest difference for me, is there are no papa soccer games. I am shocked to have not been to a game in almost a month. Its just weird., not seeing papa playing, or papa being out of town for games, or reading the newspaper for papa's name and so on. No our weekends are full of supporting Jordan cheer leading and Charger football games. My life almost feels like a normal persons life, which is not something i expected at this point in my life, i know we still have a few more years of life on the road left in us. I cant wait to see what it is going to be like when papa gets here. Although, another plus is the weather, even for locals here, they are saying they cant believe it is this warm this late in the fall. It is extremely hot in the afternoons so we try to go out in the morning or evening, you'd think it was summer. My kids are always in the water, weather showering with me, bathing with each other, or playing in one of the swimming pools, they are always wet. Its great! I almost want to complain and say its too hot but then i hear friends tell me it snowed yesterday in NY and i know i'd rather it be too hot then too cold. As a family we are a skin family, papa hardly has a shirt on, we both live in soccer shorts and i grew up in a bikini, so its great to be back wearing one everyday. Even if i dont get wet, i still put my bathing suit and clean the pool or sweep the backyard, why not? No one can see me and im working on my tan, lol! OK enough of that.. i just had to get that all off my chest.
Back to the kids, since being here we have switched the kids to straw only cups during the day. They are both doing great with it. Thais is completely potty trained during the day, she does great when we go out shopping and to stores, no accidents. I always had this fear of her peeing in the middle of the grocery aisle and its so not the case, i love it. I am so proud of her. Night time is a different story but im not stressing it right now. How ever her attitude has gotten worse but it sour fault. She says exactly what her papa says. Its not a word its a sound and its a "hump" as she tosses her hair, gives evil eyes and walks away. I was laughing and shocked the first time i heard her do it, but right away i knew she got it from her papa because he does that when he is mad but holds in his words. WOW she cracks me up, but we do have to work on it. She has also picked up some words from her teenage cousin, like the word, "whatever" and "awesome". It cracks me up to hear her say them. Tiago on the other hand is non stop with sounds. Not exactly words but man he does not shut up. He makes the sounds of cars and trains and just yells all the time. He still does not say two syllable words but he has learned new words. He tries to say names of everyone, but he continues to use sign language also. He is not allowed to have juice without singing for it. Its so cute! The animals on the other hand have taken some adapting too. Thais is just deathly scared of them, all she does is whine even if they are on the other side of the room, she says, "chewey is going to get my juice" or today the tortoise was on the other side of the pool and she came running in the house saying he was going to get her. It woudl at least take him 10 minutes just to walk around the pool, yet alone catch up to her. She is such a drama queen sometimes. Tiago how ever loves them and is always petting them and pointing to them. Tiago's new love is the pool table, if that kid isnt in a swimming pool, then is is shooting pool on the pool table. He knows how to chalk his stick and he seriously plays up there for hours a day. He loves to line up the balls and have me shoot them real fast, he gets all excited and tries to count with me. Its a heaven for someone who loves balls anyways.
OK i have shared way more than i expected but i had so much to share. Its one thing to show you pictures, but i wanted to fill you in on some of the words, feelings and actions also. So in the end, my favorite part of the day now, is when Thais wakes up and says, "Its a beautiful day mommy' because you know what? It is. Its been in the 80's since we got here, but not just the weather, its beautiful to be with my family too.

This was over the weekend, Rod taught Tiago to blow and lick the pumpkins

The kids having lunch with papa. Even over the internet they ate more with him watching them, then they do with just me or grandma. They talk to papa on skype almost everyday. Its an amazing program that seriously saves our family and its free.

Tiago on his 2nd home, the pool table.

Chillin in the sun on a sunday evening

Have i mentioned my kids are hooked on rice, beans and nachos every day now? Me on the other hand, have tacos, enchilladas, and all the mexican food i can dream of, oh yum!

Jordan got this tent 4 yrs ago and we found it in storage and the kids just love it. The blow up mattress inside is their favorite part.

Inside the tent

Nana took the kids to the park after she got home from work one day, giving me an hour of me time. So nice and they loved it!

The kids got the new vsmile motion video console. They love when I play it, but they are learning how to control it them selves.

Tiago's new train table, which is his new love and we got it for $20, sweet!

My godson teaching my son to skate board, priceless

Wow

Just when i think I have it all under control, it gets all turned upside down. It seems before my days were long, but now my days are so short and yet I know I am awake a lot longer and I still dont have enough hours in a day. Its crazy! So much for my Milestone Monday, its Wednesday and i shouldnt even be blogging, I have so much to do, but I had to come say hi and let everyone know we are doing just fine, just really busy but a good busy. Sunday we had people over for a bbq and watch the Charger game, then we carved pumpkins. Monday I ran a bunch of errands and took the kids shopping and such, used Thais's gift cards and got some great stuff, then yesterday my mom and I did some MAJOR cleaning and just in time because my dad arrived from his summer in Moab with my 50 pound tortoise, who needed a place to sleep. I have been selling on craigslist like crazy, we also had a garage sale on Sunday. Its just finally time to clean out and get rid of a lot of what we have been holding onto. My best girlfriend Ann who is expecting a baby in 6 wks, got a stroller, high chair, sling, swing, lots of goodies. It feels great to be helping my mom and going through stuff, except we are far from done, but we have another 3 or 4 months together and I know we will get it all done. And on top of that... my husband is FINALLY coming tomorrow. I am so excited to finally be done with our move from NY and have my family back together. He is still in lots of pain and swollen leg but i am sure he will be smiling much more with hugs and kisses from our babies. OK so thats it for now. I will "hopefully" come back later today maybe during naps and post what I wanted to a few days ago. For now Im off to take the kids to get their Halloween pictures taken. Wish me luck!
