Let the weekend begin

Let is begin. I woke up this morning and made breakfast of muffins and lunch of quesadillas. I walked Thais to school then Tiago and I went shopping to Costco, Wal mart and Target. Ok not shopping it was running through grabbing the few items from each store that we needed and running out. I was out of breath after costco lol! My mom had the baby and after a small crying fit she feel asleep. Then I took Tiago to school, my mom left town and so began our weekend alone. And by alone it was the first time I can remember being alone with the baby while her siblings were in school. I have been an emotional wreck this week and being alone with the baby brought back so many memories. I really miss my kids when they are at school but i miss them being babies even more.

So I got Thais from school, and Tatiana rode in the stroller like a big girl. Then we went and got Tiago from school in what I thought I was going to be a quick trip, we ended up going with another mom and her twins to watch the famous Blue Angels in the local sky show. Our neighborhood is right next to a base so the air show is literally the next exit from our house but instead of dealing with the crowds and paying admission, we went to the top of our neighborhood and watched it all from there. I didnt have my camera and we had a lot of kids near a canyon and in the heat so no great photos. It was hot we had no water, snacks or diapers, so we came home and went swimming. The pool is really cold but it felt really good. Having all 3 of my babies together is the best feeling in the world!

Half Day

I know I said I wanted to do something special each half day but I just didnt have the energy today. We had planned to use our free movie passes that expire tomorrow but there ae no good kid movies out right now and the one we might have seen either started too early or too late, so we stayed home. Well we did get ice cream as usual and yes I brought gloves for both kids this time. Actually Thais couldnt find her jacket so she grabbed the only jacket left hanging and I walked her back to class to put it back and I got to see all her art work hanging on the walls. We ended up finding her jacket in her back pack but I was glad to have a chance to see the classroom and take some quick photos. Most proud was at one of the stations was Thais's fire fighter drawing which the teacher is using as an example to all the other kids of how to color when they got to the station. Thats my girl!

We headed home, I ended up working and my mom watched the baby while the kids watched a movie. Then we loaded up early and went and picked up my extra kid for the day and took her to soccer practice but we went early so all the kids could play on the play ground and be kids for a few minutes. Then it was off to cheer practice which happen to be sibling day and all the brothers got to be in the class. I am proud to say Tiago was easily the best behaved sibling in the class. It was nice to see my two act so well in protecting each other and telling other kids "your not maKing the right choices" and "thats not a smart decision". Loved it!

Have not seen my husband today he left when I took Thais to school and its now 7pm and still no sign, I havnt even spoke to him on the phone either. I am sore from the run yesterday and I realized I walked 3 times to and from Thais's school, thats an extra 2 miles. I am tired, wish the weekend would be for rest but my mom is going out of town and papa is working both days. Lets see how long I last.

With my babies

Its been pretty obvious that my kids going to school is hard on me, mainly because I am not with them. I am proud of what they are learning and what great kids they are socially and respecting their teachers and classmates. I know I have raised good kids but 7 hours away fro me, not knowing what they are doing is hard on me and them. I miss them! I miss being with them all day every day. I know a lot of parents cant not wait to send their kids to school, even at age 4 and counting down till summer is over, not me. I am fine if thats you, but I love my babies and I wish I could spend every second of every day with them. They bring me smiles and I love seeing them learn. So I volunteer in both their classrooms so why they are at school, I can go help their teacher and see what they are doing for myself. So the morning started with Thais being silly and pretending to hide under her umbrella every time a car drove by. She is so silly, I love it! Then it was my turn to volunteer in her class. I spoke to the teacher before class if we could 8-9 instead of 8:30-9:30 because Tiago had a field trip that I was also going on at 9:30.

So todays rotations in Thais class I was in charge of having the kids take a leaf and write "I can jump" on the leaf, then draw a picture of themselves with color pencils, then use bingo ink blot markers to make a pile of leaves and finally use colored chalk to color the grass at the bottom. It was kind of a sensory thing but also a writing thing. The kids are spilt into 4 groups of 5 and I get Thais's group first which is the "smartest" group. They write they sentence no problem and color and even have time to color the back, etc. Next group comes in, I have to help them write the sentence by using the white board behind me, 3rd group comes in and they are only able to write a few letters but they do get really close. I didnt want to spend too much time in the writing and them not able to color. The final 4th group comes in and the teacher even warns me to not even attempt to have them write any letters but their name and just have them color. I also feel so motivated when I start working with Thais's class but by the time I leave, I feel so bad for the last group of kids. I am proud my daughter is in the higher of the class but I know I need to still work with her to continue her education. She is so tired by the time she comes home that I just want her to play and be a kid but I will start reading and doing some things with her and make sure to keep it fun. She still loves to play the computer and did that yesterday too.


So I leave Thais's class, rush home and feed the baby then off to Tiago's field trip we go. Big thanks to my mom for watching the baby so I can be a part of my kids classrooms. Papa is doing camps during the day, coaching in the afternoons and practicing in the evenings so he has not been around this week at all. The field trip is at Round Table pizza where the kids get to make the pizzas and have a tour of the restaurant. It really was a lot of fun. Like I have said before, I learn new stuff every time I am in my childrens classrooms or field trips in this case. There are 2 ladies I am getting along with, of course one is the mother of twins. This is my 3rd set of twins I have met at this pre school in less than a year. I swear Thais and Tiago are like my twins so it works out fine, I understand the life of twins due to them being 14 months apart. How ever they are a few moms I dont quite get "yet" and you will hear her in the video. The manager of the store was great as he was portuguese and loved Tiago's name. I love the school teachers too as this is a real close knit type school and they tell me everything with Tiago and we discuss things he may do at home and at school and help to understand his ways. Anyways it was a fun day, Tiago made his pizza with one topping each. I got to eat one slice and it was yummy! Fun Day!

I am tired from the last week and even more so from yesterday so I was hoping to just stay home and rest but we rushed to the library where Tiago loves to do puzzles they have and Thais played the computer. Love that libraries these days dont just have books, they have lots of stuff. Then we came home and rested. Thankfully papa was home for a few minutes before leaving for his next job and I got to close my eyes for 20 mins, then i woke up and went running. I only went for 30 mins but something is better than nothing.


Thais pretending to hide and no it wasnt raining, I just like to make our walk to school different and fun each day. I took the video camera one day and she filmed the whole way then I filmed another day.

5 Tuesday

I am tired. Yes I am always going, going, going but now I am really tired. The last of my family is leaving today but thats not before my BFF dropped off my "niece" for me to watch her all day. She really is a fun kid, I enjoyed having her here. Its the stage in between Tatiana and Tiago. I forgot how fun they are. Tiago had fun playing hide and seek and having someone smaller than him who would listen to him. I really missed Thais, it felt weird to have a little one and her not here. It reminded me so much of our days on the road just us, of actually just hanging with y kids all day. Sitting on the floor with them and such. My kids now play together and on their own, I dont get on the floor much anymore, so I enjoyed it and I am excited to do it with Tatiana also.


When we went to get Thais from school, I put the baby in the carrier, Katia in the stroller and Tiago walked, then I had the 2 girls walk home also. We picked up Thais's cheer team mate. It was chaos for a few hours but I did it. I know I can really do anything that is put in front of me. Granted I am tired now, but I still did it. I even took all 5 kids to cheer with me, 5 car seats, 5 kids, 10 little hands to hold walking in the parking lot. We did it though! To top it off, Thais got her cheer uniform which at first I didnt like but once she had it on and was with her team mates and the smile on her face to see how proud of it she was, I feel in love with it. i will try to get video of her cheer next week, not today though as i had 5 kids lol!

We still have family in town and the boys wanted to walk Thais to school, so I said why not? and off we went.
