Game Day

Including tonight there are only 7 more home games and I plan on having people visiting for most of them. This season/ summer is coming to an end. Packing and moving is already on my mind but for tonight, for this game, its Tony's 7th birthday and we are going to enjoy ourselves and we did. Denise had a lot of her friends and co -workers come to the game for the 1st time, so its always nice to have non soccer people at games. Papa didnt play, he didnt even dress, he is resting his body, preventing injuries. We got Tony's name and picture up on the scoreboard for his birthday, he was excited. Of course it wasnt without drama. They forgot Tony's picture the first time, so we ran down to the lady in charge and see called the announcer on the walkie talkie and he promised to put it up on the board before the game was over and he did. So Tony's was an extra special birthday wish. I got to talk to some guys on the other team whom papa used to play with and the kids got to run around like crazy as usual. Good times, 6 more to go!

Before the game, the kids and I went shopping for new clothes. I always buy all the summer stuff at the end of summer because we are lucky enough to use summer clothes in the winter in San Diego. How ever Thais is at an age where if she doesnt like a shirt, she wont buy it, so now i have to take her with me when i go shopping for her. Thais picked out this entire outfit by herself including the "jelly" shoes. I never thought i'd buy my daughter jelly shoes but she loves them so much she even took her nap with them on. So I snapped these photos before papa left for the game. I actually thought thais would go to the game in non rhinos gear but i was wrong.

Tiago was watching the supporters group, chanting and clapping and he was trying to do what they were doing.

Movie and Birthdays

Another full day. Started off with free movies at Regal Cinema Theaters. They show already released movies for kids, everyone is free and its for 6 weeks only. Check your local Regal Theater. Our choice of movies was "Robots" or "Everyone's Hero" and we choose the hero one. Had no clue what either movie was about but I am so glad we picked this one. It was about a boy named Yankee who's hero is Babe Ruth, and when Babe Ruth's bat gets stolen and the boys father is blamed, the boy goes on an adventure to get it back with a talking baseball and a talking bat who is Whoopie Goldberg, Funny stuff, and the best part it was directed by Christopher Reeve and his wife before they died. FANTASTIC movie! There were event ons of trains so Tiago was happy too. Thais's love/ hate best friend and her mom met us there. The kids got popcorn and a soda and were so happy. Their 1st real time in a movie theater, complete success. I am hoping to go each week for the next 6 weeks.

We then met Hannah and her mom at a park for an hour or so.

and that evening we went to the water spray park for Tony's 7th birthday with our NY family. It was a lot of fun, just us girls and our kids. As you can see the kids always have fun when they are all together. Happy birthday Tony and thanks to the girls for making me a part of your family!

Castle

After my blah last week, I asked papa for the car the whole week and im taking full advantage of it. We started today with an oil change for our old faithful car, I really love this car and will be sad to see it go, it has taken such good care of us with all the moving and traveling we do in it, so in return we try to take of it the best we can which means regular oil changes. Having 2 kids in a car dealership for 1 hr is not fun by any means but we made it fun. Sadly as soon as the oil change was over, it started to lightly rain. So our adventure to the "castle" was going to be a bit wet. I wish we had gone there first but those dang mechanics and their lunch break. Oh well, we went anyways and still enjoyed ourselves. I do hope to go back on a sunny day but in case we dont, at least we went.

Now this castle was really just a house and is now office space for the civic garden center of rochester. So the outside is very castle look liking, but the inside is tables, chairs, desks, and computers with a botanical library of books. It is in the middle of high land park which is where we went for the lilac festival and has wonderful plants and gardens all around. How ever the neatest part of this "castle" was behind it, had a sunken garden complete with dungeon like rooms and everything. Thais was in heaven. She wanted her princess dresses and kept looking for the princess's bed and she could have spent hours in the dungeon asking to be recused, how ever Tiago and i were getting wet and I was trying to take pictures from dry spots under trees, it wasnt really working. Thats just another day in our adventures, lol!

here is a link on the history of our castle. CLICK HERE

My silly kids climbed in every car in the show room and of course i let them and took pictures. I know those salesmen were not happy with me, oh well!

Horatio Gates Warner designed his home, Warner Castle, built in 1854, to resemble the ancestral castle of the Clan Douglas which captivated his fancy during a visit to Scotland.

About to be invaded by 2 small children

The side view taken from my car was we were leaving but wanted to give you another view besides the front

Right up the stairs looking for the princess room and all her clothes

Teeny tiny walk ways

Huge murals on the walls

Sunken Garden designed by famous landscape architect, Alling S. DeForest.

I took all these pixs from the only dry spot under a tree

Then I covered the camera and ran down to the dungeon to show you my trapped kids

Tiago the princes saving thais the princess ( i heard this 1,000 times in 10 minutes)

At least they had benches, and we really shut the gate. Good times!
