Feeling Good

Today was the 1st day, I actually felt ok, all day long. I didnt even take a nap. Today started week 9 and what Im hoping is the beginning of 2nd trimester symptoms even if Im still in the 1st trimester. We have Linny here, so we have been busy. Tuesday I played soccer which wiped me out for the rest of the day but I am happy to be working out. I am going to try and work out a bit more, at least a lot of walking which i did today. Yesterday, we took the kids to the free movies then today, I took Thais to get new passport photos, just me and her which was a nice break. I love my baby girl who isnt such a baby girl anymore. I truly feel like her and I are still the same buddies we always have been since she was born and it used to just be me and her 24/7 alone in Canada together. I know she could be going to Kindergarten this year but i cant even imagine her doing that and I am thankful we are waiting one more year. I am looking into part time pre-school a few days a week but thats not till she turns 5 in Oct, after we return from Brasil. So then we loaded up all the kids and went to get our free lunches at the rec center. After eating them in the grass, we went to Thais's actual passport renewal appt. Can you even believe my 4yr old is on her 2nd passport? Hilarious! Then we all went to the library for over one hour. Papa took Linny and Tiago to the park down the street from the library to ride bikes while Thais and I were alone again at the library for a bit. Then her and I walked over to the park and we all hung out for awhile. We came home the kids went swimming and while they went down for naps, i went to wal mart, $1 and grocery store and got gas. It was quite the eventful day and I am hoping I feel this good from here on out.

Comic Con 2010

What a day, what a day!!!!! I have not been to comic con in over a decade if not longer. I used to go in my younger teen years but then i stopped and the last 10 yrs, i have not been in the summer so I never made it. How ever we went this year and I got to take my kids for the first time. My brother Chris has always been into comics and I was into them for awhile as a kid because of him. I still enjoy them to this day but like with most things, im out of the loop. How ever when t comes to comic con in San Diego, everyone can and will find something they like. For most its actually the really old stuff they enjoy or the really new stuff that has yet to come out. As you know many movies nowadays are just remakes of old movies and so on, so its kind of the best of both worlds. All the cartoons I used to watch as a kid are now back and in movie form. Anyways we went, we had fun, the kids had fun, it was a long but exciting day and I hope we can make it a tradition to go for at least 1 day each year. Its a 4-5 day event and im not quite up to that challenge yet, i will ease my way back in. If you have never been its worth it to at least go once in your life time. To see the fans dressed up and displays and even see movie stars and get tons of free stuff like bags, shirts, posters, toys, buttons, books. Its adventure for sure but well worth it.

Our main purpose was to see the new scooby doo so this was the panel including creators and actors and they showed a full never before aired episode and the kids got toys at the end

The new and ever controversial wonder woman because she is wearing pants, unlike her orignal butt hugging shorts

Thais with my little pony, i asked tiago to get out of the picture and he got mad he wanted to sit on the horse, hence the face

Tiago with such a large transformer, i couldnt even get it's head in the photo

The car from transfomers

This is for Uncle Johnny in PA, Tiago at the lego booth with harry potters characters made of legos

Tiago was much more interested in the Cars he had just gotten for free and was mad i wouldnt let him open them till i got a photo of them

The reason i wanted a photo was because he received 2 very rare Cars. You see there was a raffle and we didnt win but we hung around afterwards till everyone left to see the display cases of all the Cars on the shelves. Well then a very nice employee then asks if Tiago is a big fan and he says YES, so she whispers in his ear to bend down and she hands him not one but 2 of the same toys she was giving away in the raffle. I came home and googled them just to see how much they were worth and the purple car in the case is worth $35 and the truck isnt even on toy store shelves yet but is close to $25. So Tiago received $60 of collectors items toys of which are probably worth nothing now since he opened them and crashed them all over the place. How ever he loves them and brought many smiles to his face, so it is worth it. We did get them for free, remember. Here is a link to show the purple cars worth.

Saturday

In a some what usual routine, we went to a movie and then art class today. I am not 100% but i am forcing myself up and out of the house for some good quality time with my kids, mom and my niece. So we went to a Thomas the train movie for $5 each. It is coming out on DVD next month or the month after but sometimes they release them in the theatre before hand. I try to take turns between barbie and thomas movies but it doesnt always work out. How ever today was all Thomas and Tiago day. He got his hat and his shirt and he was ready to go. Usually on the free wednesday morning movies, Tiago is ready to go home after about 20 mins, not this time. He watched the entire film without one word, he loved it and I loved being there with him to watch it. The kids got free activity books and even the girls liked it, so win win situation.

Afterwards we went to art class where they actually got to do the activity outside. They made summer fans with half a paper plate and a popsicle stick and lots of gluing of feathers, eye balls, puffy paint stickers. You name it. I passed out when we got home but that evening we watched a family movie called Artic Tale. Great movie about how a baby walrus and baby polar bear grow up and how climate change is affecting them so much. They actually said at the rate the world is creating global warming right now, there will be no ice in the north pole by 2040. Thats 30 yrs from now when my daughter is my age. It truly shocked me and saddened me. I already love to recycle and have a pet peeve about lights, but i am hoping to be able to do more when we move into our own house some day. Plant our own garden, grow our fruit and veggies, have a compose in our backyard, cloth diaper, solar power, who knows but anything i can do to help keep earth the way it is now for my kids, i certainly will try. Anyways thats my 2 cents....

after art class we always stop and wait for a trolley to pass by so he can wave

A day of four

You know we have had kids here for some time now but today we got a day away just the four of us. Being pregnant with #3, i know our days of being just a family of four are limited. I have also been pretty sick and tired the last few weeks but im finally starting to feel a bit better. I am in my 8th week of being pregnant and happy to be feeling better. So my brother is here with my niece but they went to comic con, my aunt and her dog drove to utah, so it was just us and my mom, but my mom had things to do also, so it was me, papa, Thais and Tiago. We went tot he library as we do every Thursday and the kids got to pick out new stuffed animals because they reached the reading level of 25 books in the summer reading program. They love their new animals and have taken them every where. After awhile at the library we went to some place new. I miss doing all of our new adventures so i was determined to get us out and about again. We went to mission trails which is where my dad and i used to walk the dogs all the time. I remember there being a small water fall like dam area and i thought the kids would like it. How ever we never found the water area, but we found lots of other fun stuff. It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time.

I am including other photos too of things this past week.

My friend Gabe and his wife and 3 kids came over to swim, they sent me this photo of Thais going down the slide.

Papa took the kids to the park one day while i napped and rested

Papa also took the kids over to Rods pool to swim in a different pool while i rested and slept on a different day

Only one baby not two so no twins this time around. Have another appt in 4 weeks. The kids loved the photo of their new baby brother or sister and showed it off to everyone. They didnt go with us to the appt they went to the movies but i will be taking them to the next one. I am loving being able to share this whole experience with them.

And their gone...

The kids left today and it has been a busy 6 days hence the no blogging. Yes part of that is me being pregnant and by the end of the day, I am just too tired. I also have facebook and internet on my phone now, so Im not actually on the laptop computer as much. The week went quick and we had a lot of issues but we also had a lot of fun. Im not much for words right now but here and some pixs and videos. The went swimming, to the park, to the bay and fireworks and much more but i wasnt able to capture everything on film but i tried.

In baby news, I went from wanting to eat everything to wanting to eat nothing. Eating is becoming a chore for me and i am feeling more sick this pregnancy than any other pregnancy. Most people (family and friends) are claiming i am having twins. Luckily we will find out tomorrow at our first doctor appt. Be sure to look for that blog update tomorrow night.
