I never thought I'd have to drag my children around through the snow,
in weather that was negative eighteen below.
I never thought my kids would have no choice but to watch french speaking cartoons, where the soccer ball was called a "ballon".
I never thought my kids would have play dates over the internet,
but with the web cam it was the best date yet.
I never thought my child would be on 18 plane rides before her first birthday, or learn to say hello in more than one way.
I never thought it was possible to fall in love over and over again day after day with the same man, and know the world was going to be ok with the just the touch of his hand.
I never thought the color pink would look even better next to the color blue and that gaining 40 pounds was actually pretty cool.
I never thought having 2 kids would be so much fun, and would make having one kid feel like having none.
And most of all, I never thought i'd be sitting here writing this blog
in such a state of sleepless fog....

What can't she do
Everyone always says their own kid is the smartest, cutest, fastest, strongest, etc.
Well I am no different. Thais amazes us everyday wth little things she has picked up and we didnt even realize.
Last night she came down the hall way from the shoe cloest with papa's sandals on her feet. Of course they werent on exactly but they were flip flops, i dont blame her. She then proceeds to go to the play station and hit the button to pop out our movie and puts in her own dvd. After a few minutes she goes over to the diaper bag and unzips it, reaches in, pops the lid off her formula, opens the diaper wipes container and attemptes to open the water and pour it into both before I stop her. When she plays with tupper ware she stacks them with the biggest on top and the smaller pieces underneath. Thais knows where the pillows go, where the gorceries go, how to open the dryer and take out the lint trap, she flushes the toilet, climbs, up, under and behind every object in our house. She can now stick her fork in our bowls and take pasta out. She had her spoon in my cheerioes yesterday and took out her own cheerioes and put them in her mouth. She can take batteries out of toys, turn on every gadget in the house including the dish washer and of course turn off the tv while papa is watching a very important soccer game or playing his play station. Thais stops doing what ever she is doing the minute she sees the camera, she wants to play with the camera and push all of its buttons instead, so its hard to capture any of these moments on film. But I still think my favorite part of her untaught mimicking actions is her speech. Out of habit we speak to Thais in spanish, all of her commands are in spanish, come, give me, run, be careful, sit, and so on. Well her new favorite word and actions is sit. She stands on chairs, couches, beds, and things that she shouldnt. So we tell her sit (sienta) while we show our index finger pointing down. So now when we say it, she says it back and even points her finger down just like we do. She will sit, but only for a second as she thinks it is funny to copy us. And as much as I shouldnt praise most of these actions, i couldnt be more proud.... Because of course, my child is the smartest, cutest, faster and strongest kid i know. (Hey who said moms arent bias?)

Photos
Ok so I felt extremely guilty after I finished the last post about not putting up some photos. So not only have i uploaded some here but i put up 2 new albums on our phot web page.
http://homepage.mac.com/ohfive
Its tough to take photos for if we are outside, we are in a hurry to get inside. And inside we do the same stuff so I dont take many photos, but I loaded some anyways.
My kids are getting huge and time is flying by us. I am sad for I wish they would stay this little forever.

Busy Busy Busy
Yes we are still here. Not much going on up here. It is super cold and Ze and I rotate who has to go outside that day and who stays home with the kids. I am taking care of as much as I can before me and the kids leave for San Diego, and Ze is doing as much rehab and therapy as he can. We are both tired needless to say but Tiago is sleeping in 4 hrs blocks now at night, which helps except the first 4 hr block starts at 10pm and Thais doesnt go to sleep till around midnight. Then by the time we settle down, Tiago is awake again. Aww the joys of parenthood.
Ze got his own laptop and email address although he wishes everyone would just the program Skype so he didnt have to type everyone an email back. He actually refuses to check his email in hopes to forget about it and not have to email anyone back. But Im glad he has it regardless. It will come in handy in the future, especailly when we are apart and I have to send him something to print or to see the kids. Thais is picking up on all of our actions. She puts our shoes on her own feet, she brushes her teeth like we do, she eats from a spoon and a fork, she shakes her bottle when we give it to her, she brushes her hair, anything she sees us do, she copy cats it exactly. Its really cute!
Rumor is Ze's summer soccer schedule is supposed to come out today. i hope it is true so you and i and everyone else can start making our summer plans and visits to each other. If it does come out, ill come back here and post it.
No photos for today, just wanted to get this blog out because i found out some of you actually read it, lol!

Changes in our household
Well with all of our travel plans now changed, we are going to be making some changes in our household that we didnt think we were going to be making for a few more months. Thais is starting cows milk and going to sippy cups and Tiago will be taking pumped breast milk from a bottle. We are also going to be decluttering our extra bedroom/ office so we can turn it into the kids room. Right now they both sleep in our bedroom and their toys are in the living room. It will be nice to have all their stuff in one place, instead of different spots all around the house. I was going to wait till we got back from our travels to do all these things, but now we have lots of time.
I am hoping this will all be done before me and the kids travel to San Diego so Ze can move all the furniture and things around while we are gone. Getting it clean and organized enough will be the true test. We have been here almost 2 yrs, which is a record for us since we usually move every 6 months, so you can imagine the stuff that has built up, especially with the birth of both of our kids. So wish us luck!!!! Its time to clean up and start a new stage in our lives. Looking forward to a summer of not being pregnant and to Ze's recovery and an outstanding new season. Good things to come...
Eventually i will figure out this blog thing and post more pixs of the kids. Each day they each do new things, but i dont always capture them on film and ther isnt enough room to show every photo here. So for now I will discuss them. well yesterday was a big day for tiago. I had my doc appt so I left both kids home alone with Ze for the first time. Of course he called me 3 times asking where was I, and how long till i get home, but they all seemed to survive ok. Tiago had a bottle for the first time, i am sad i missed it and i almost cried when I heard my son crying over the phone and i wasnt there, but i knew they were in good hands with thier papa. And of course with all my worry, tiago took the bottle with no problems and after several tries, he wont take the pacifer, just like his sister. Never sucked her thumb or took a pacifer, guess he will follow in her foot steps. Speaking of her footsteps. she has learned to walk on her toes and now even tries to run on them too. She is now tall enough when on her toes to reach the counter top and stuff on the table and the 3rd drawer in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. So now we find kitchen utensils in our sock drawer and so on. But the best yesterday was, i was talking to my mom on my cell phone and ze was talking to his dad on the house land line and i get another call on my cell phone and it says it is from ze's cell phone. i go on the bedroom and ask him why is he calling me. he says he isnt and right away my mom on the other end says "where's your daughter?" So we run around and find her with Ze's cell phone calling me. I was so confused for a few minutes, but as always she just makes us smile. I am happy and sad to say Tiago has outgrown his preemie clothes and even some of his newborn clothes and his newborn diapers. He is making cooing sounds, smiling at us and follows us around with his head and eyes when we walk by him. My little man is getting big already... oh where of where does the time go???

Why Can't It Be Easy?
So as usual, everything in my life that is supposed to be simple... isnt! What was supposed to be a simple 20 min pick up at the American Embassy this morning, turned into a 4 hr wait. What was supposed to be a 2 day money wire transfer in Dec, has turned into 4 wks of complete mess and the money is still not transfered. So after a late night and an early morning and a list of tough days behind us, I went and bought Tiago a swing. We are not people who buy a lot of new things, and with him being the 2nd baby, everything is usually already used. So it was a real treat to buy some new baby stuff, i dont think i have done that since before Thais was born. And so far so good, he loves it. But it didnt take long before Thais wanted to play with it, and we have laughed watching her learn the concept of what goes away, eventually comes back too. So as always, bad days are made good by our children.

Ouch....
Well yesterday was a painful day for San Diego. For such a wonderful season to come down to the last 8 seconds of one game, its a true heart breaker. Of course it isnt as sad as when Ze's team loses in the playoffs, but its is always sad to see good people not get rewarded for hard work. As they always say, here's to next season.
We may be in Canada, but that doesnt stop us from giving our Chargers some long distant love. Pixs of Thais through out the game.... and of course one of Tiago, chill in his recliner, lol!
Game time

I dont know about this....

Oh No He Didnt!!!!!!!!!!!

What she screaming about?

Change of Plans
(Taken from myspace blog)
Well due to unseen circumstances, our trip to Brasil has been postponed till Oct. It breaks our hearts not be able to go see our family and friends, and take the kids home, but it is in the best interest of my husbands career and recovery to stay in canada for therapy till the new season starts in just a few weeks.
But all of you in San Diego and Utah, dont fret, me and the babies are still coming to visit. I hate to take the kids away from their beloveded Papa, but we have to get out of this cold, at least for a few weeks. Dates are still unknown, but its still looking like end of Feb to March sometime.
As soon as we know, we will let you know.... stay tuned.....

Welcome
Well welcome to the latest addition of my internet world. I have been keeping daily journals for both my kids in seperate diaries and monthly photo ablums on our web page, so i thought i would put the two together and create a blog. One place for diary and for photos. With 2 kids now, 2 diaries was a bit daunting. I do plan on still adding the journal entires to their scrapbooks and such but i can personalize them at a later date. And I have gotten complaints that monthly photo albums were not enough, so now you can daily photos or at least weekly photos without me filling up your inbox. So for now "Im Blogging".
So welcome and enjoy and please take part in it. Comment, question, discuss, add, chat with others, what ever you may choose, but thanks for being involved in our lives and especially in the lives of my children. Its a new year, so lets do something different. As technology enchances long distance communication, lets jump on the train and take advantage of it. We will all benefit.... enough techincal, now on to the fun of it.

Guess Who Game
A lot of people have made the comment that Thais and Tiago look a like. I agree to a little but im the mom, of course I can see differences between them. But then I asked my husband and my friends's husband and they couldnt tell the kids apart. At first they said all the pictures were the same kid, then they said the pictures had 3 kids in them. So i have created a small picture quiz to see if you can tell the difference. It was hard to cut out dates and gender colors but i did my best. Good luck and email your guess and i'll reply with the answers.... Have a fantastic Friday and a good weekend!!!
